At Sandford Hill Primary School, we greatly value the enormous contributions that parents/carers can offer to their child when they start school. We also understand the importance of developing a strong partnership between home and school.  To help build this, we operate an open door policy where parents/carers are welcome to come into the nursery at the beginning and end of each day. Parents of children who are just starting their Early Years education are offered home visits, as this provides practitioners with the opportunity to meet with you in your own home. This has been very popular with parents; the majority of whom have requested visits. Parents are also invited into school to observe lessons, giving a valuable insight into what and how the children are learning. To enable the whole family to be involved, we invite parents and family members to join us for a family picnic following our sports day.

Our school motto is 'Thoughtfulness and Respect' which we celebrate each week with one child from each class being awarded a medal to keep for the week, showing that they have been thoughtful and kind.

We would be very grateful if you can also support your child in the following tasks.

The Reception children will have Music and Dance on Tuesday mornings with Mrs Brian and Mrs Ford and P.E. / Dance on Friday.

Please ensure all of their clothes are clearly labelled with their name, including coats and shoes. Children will forget where they have left their jumpers, cardigans and other belongings and we can only return them to the correct child if they are clearly labelled.

Please check your child’s book bag each night for any important information that may come home.
