Pupil Premium

The Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium funding is allocated to schools to address inequalities between pupils in receipt of Free School Meals (FSM) and their peers.

The amount of money a school receives is based on the number of pupils in school, who are eligible for FSM, at the time of the annual January Census.

In determining how Pupil Premium funding is allocated, we will ensure that:

  • Teaching and Learning at Sandford Hill will meet the needs of all of its pupils;
  • The well-being and progress of socially disadvantaged pupils will be closely monitored;
  • Provision is made for socially disadvantaged pupils, as there will be a significant proportion of our families who are socially disadvantaged but;
  • Are not registered for Free School Meals;
  • Do not qualify for Free School Meals although they are a low income family.

The school reserves the right to spend its allocated Pupil Premium funding to support any pupil or groups which have been identified as socially disadvantaged.

Limited funding and resources means that not all FSM pupils will be in receipt of Pupil Premium interventions at one time.
